What Happens After the Inspection?
The Inspection report is divided into five sections (six sections for Massachusetts):
1. The cover sheet
2. Overview
3. High Elements (if applicable)
4. Low Elements (if applicable)
5. Equipment
6. Inspection Summary Sheet
(Massachusetts only)
The cover sheet contains the basic course information:
* who built the course
* when the course was built
* when the course was last inspected
* who conducted the last inspection
* the date of the current inspection
* the names of those that conducted the current inspection
The cover sheet also provides an explanation for the grading system used on the report.
The overview provides general information, as well as course specific information such as any terrain, tree health, etc.
This provides a detailed breakdown of each high-ropes element on the course, and will provide a description if there are any problems with the element, or if there are anticipated problems with the element that are likely to occur in the next year or so (such as overgrowth of a tree interfering with the hardware).
This provides a detailed breakdown of each low-ropes element on the course, and will provide a description if there are any problems with the element, or if there are anticipated problems with the element that are likely to occur in the next year or so (such as overgrowth of a tree interfering with the hardware).
This provides a detailed breakdown of each piece of challenge course related equipment, and will provide a description if there are any problems.
The Inspection Summary Sheet is a Massachusetts Department of
Public Safety form that must accompany all challenge course and
climbing wall facility inspection reports in the state of
Massachusetts.
After the report is completed a copy will be immediately sent by one (or more) of the following methods (as desired by the client):
* as a pdf through email (the inspection summary sheet will
either be mailed or faxed)
* faxed
* regular mail
Reports are sent out within 72 hours of the completion of the inspection.
If the inspection determined a need for repairs, and an estimate for repairs was requested by the client, we will include the estimate with the inspection report. If there had been no discussion about submitting an estimate, we will inquire as to whether or not one is desired.
